Parent Meeting
The parent meeting is when all of the findings from the testing process and the recommendations are reviewed. The meetings usually last 2-3 hours to ensure you understand everything you need to know about your child from what was learned during the testing. The parent meetings are led by a psychology associate or by Dr. Sandler. You are welcome to bring in a tape recorder and a long-playing tape to record this meeting.
When Dr. Sandler thinks it would be beneficial for your child to attend part of the parent meeting, she will let you know and make those arrangements with you. She has found students in middle or high school who hear they are capable learners, what might be making tasks more difficult, and what can be done to help them in school inspires them, gives them the added confidence, and the hope they need.
